Presentations
As you work with a faculty member on research projects, you might have an opportunity to share your research at professional research conferences or research showcase symposiums on your university’s campus. The format of the presentation can vary but most commonly is either an oral talk or poster presentation. These conferences and presentation venues usually advertise their dates, locations, and presentation requirements months in advance. Anyone interested in sharing their research must submit an abstract (brief project summary) to be evaluated by conference organizers. The organizers notify presenters if they are selected to present, and if so, which type of presentation they should prepare and the more specific guidelines. More details are listed below for each type of presentation.
