Develop your own Research Agenda for the Future

If and when you decide to pursue a career in research, you can start working on what research questions you would like to pursue long-term. In fact, some students develop their own research questions based on projects they have completed in conjunction with their professors. They might continue working on these questions, with the guidance of their professor, throughout their undergraduate years and into their graduate school experience with a different professor. Eventually, students will develop independent projects in graduate school and their professional careers; however, these projects are sometimes related to the same research field or parallel in nature to the research questions of their research mentors. This is how the field of research expands and branches into new areas!
