This Privacy Policy explains how PrepME (“PrepME,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the application.
PrepME is an IELTS preparation application developed by devCoreSolution.
We designed PrepME with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share your personal information. Your learning data is stored locally on your device.
PrepME follows these privacy principles:
We do not require an account, sign-in, email address, or password.
We do not collect personal information or advertising identifiers.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
Your practice history, scores, study plan, vocabulary progress, and settings are stored only on your device.
The App connects to the internet only to download IELTS vocabulary word lists.
The App does not send your personal learning data to our servers.
The microphone is used only for speaking practice while you are actively using a speaking feature.
PrepME does not collect the following information:
Name, email address, phone number, or physical address
Account credentials
Location data
Contacts
Photos or personal files
Advertising IDs or device tracking identifiers
Usage analytics
Behavioral profiles
PrepME does not contain advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or third-party tracking libraries.
To provide its features, PrepME stores certain information locally on your device.
This may include:
Practice results and estimated band scores
Study plans
Study streaks and reminders
Vocabulary you have learned or marked for review
Reading, listening, writing, and speaking activity within the App
App preferences, such as theme settings, target band score, and test date
This information is stored in the App's private storage and is not transmitted to us or to third parties by PrepME.
Because this information is stored locally, you can remove it from your device at any time. See Section 9, “Data Retention and Deletion,” for instructions.
PrepME requests only the permissions necessary to provide its features.
Permission
Purpose
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)
Used to allow you to complete speaking practice and the spoken examiner interview. It is used only while a speaking feature is active.
Internet / Network Access
Used to download IELTS vocabulary word lists and check network connectivity.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Used to send optional study reminders when you choose to enable them.
You can revoke permissions at any time through your device's system settings.
If you revoke a permission, the related feature may no longer function correctly. For example, speaking practice requires microphone access.
When you use a speaking feature, PrepME uses the speech-recognition service available on your device to convert your spoken words into text.
The following applies:
Your device's speech-recognition service processes your speech.
PrepME receives the resulting text needed for the speaking exercise.
PrepME does not record or permanently store your voice.
PrepME does not upload your voice recordings to its own servers.
PrepME analyzes the resulting text on your device to provide feedback and estimate aspects such as vocabulary and grammar performance.
PrepME does not evaluate or store a permanent recording of your voice.
Speech-recognition services may be provided by your device manufacturer or operating-system provider. Their handling of information may be governed by their own privacy policies.
For Android devices using Google services, you can review Google's Privacy Policy here:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
PrepME uses your device's built-in text-to-speech service to provide spoken examiner prompts and read listening content.
Text-to-speech processing is handled by the relevant service available on your device. PrepME does not use this feature to collect or store your personal information.
The privacy practices of the underlying text-to-speech provider are governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
PrepME connects to the internet to download IELTS vocabulary word lists and related learning content.
These network requests are used to retrieve educational content for the App.
PrepME does not intentionally include the following information in these requests:
Your name
Email address
Phone number
Practice history
Study progress
Account information
PrepME does not have user accounts or a backend account system through which your personal learning information is collected.
Where supported, network requests are made using secure HTTPS connections.
PrepME does not integrate advertising networks, analytics providers, social-login services, or third-party tracking services.
However, certain platform services may be involved when you use specific device features.
PrepME may rely on speech-recognition and text-to-speech services provided by your device or operating-system provider, such as Google services on many Android devices.
These services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
Google's Privacy Policy is available at:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
PrepME is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect certain information when you download, install, update, or use Google Play services.
Such information is handled by Google under its own privacy policies. PrepME does not control Google's data practices.
PrepME does not maintain a server-side account containing your personal learning information.
Your locally stored learning data can be removed from your device using the following methods:
On supported Android devices:
Settings → Apps → PrepME → Storage → Clear Data / Clear Storage
This removes locally stored progress, preferences, and other App data.
Uninstalling PrepME removes the App and its locally stored data from your device, subject to your device's operating-system behavior and any data separately backed up by the operating system.
Because PrepME does not maintain copies of your learning data on its own servers, there is no server-side personal learning data for us to delete.
We take reasonable measures to minimize privacy and security risks.
In particular:
Learning data is stored locally on your device.
PrepME does not maintain a server-side database of your personal learning information.
Network requests used to obtain educational content use HTTPS where supported.
The App does not use advertising or tracking SDKs to build user profiles.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should also use appropriate security measures on your device, such as a screen lock and keeping your operating system up to date.
PrepME is an IELTS preparation application intended for a general audience.
The App is not specifically directed toward children under 13, and PrepME does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.
Because PrepME does not collect personal information through user accounts or tracking systems, we do not maintain a server-side database of children's personal information.
Any learning information stored by the App is stored locally on the user's device and can be removed by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights under applicable laws, including laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or California privacy laws.
Because PrepME does not collect or maintain personal information on its own servers:
We do not maintain a server-side personal profile for you.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising.
There is generally no server-side personal information maintained by us for you to access, correct, export, or delete.
Information stored locally on your device can be removed by you at any time as described in Section 9.
If you have questions about your privacy rights or how PrepME handles information, you can contact us using the details provided in Section 15.
PrepME may be used by people around the world.
Because your learning data is stored locally on your device and is not maintained by PrepME on its own servers, PrepME does not intentionally transfer your personal learning data across international borders.
However, certain device-level services, such as speech recognition or text-to-speech, may be provided by third-party platform providers. Those providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, its features, applicable laws, or our privacy practices.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
For significant changes, we may also provide additional notice within the App or through the App's store listing.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or PrepME's privacy practices, please contact us:
