This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how the Prep DNB mobile application (the "App") collects, uses, stores, and protects information. Prep DNB is a medical education app for DNB/DipNB exam preparation with previous-year question papers, important topics and keywords, MCQ practice, revision tools, and optional cloud backup of saved questions.
The App is developed and maintained by Docodex Labs ("Developer," "we," "us," "our"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

You can use the App fully without signing in. Cloud sync is optional.
Without sign-in: The App does not require an account. You do not provide personal information unless you choose to (e.g., email us for support).
Optional cloud sign-in: If you use Cloud Sync, you can sign in with either:
Email Magic Link — a one-time link sent by email (no password, no in-app code). Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. Sign-in emails are sent from team@docodexlabs.com (via Resend).
Google — via Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication.
Your account email is stored by the chosen provider as your account identifier. Only one sign-in method is active at a time.
Support / feedback: If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and message contents only.
The App stores study and preference data on your device:
Saved questions (bookmarks) — subject, exam session, paper, question number, optional personal note, and a short text preview of the question
Read progress — per-question status: unread, read, or needs revision
Revision mode — which saved questions are in your revision queue and review metadata (local only)
Theme — light or dark mode
Navigation state — last selected subject, session, and paper (for convenience)
One-time tips — e.g., whether a bookmark tip was shown
Local study data is saved in an app-specific file (study_data.json) in your device storage. Preferences use platform storage (e.g., SharedPreferences on Android).
When you sign in via Cloud Sync, bookmark data is stored with the provider for that sign-in method:
Email Magic Link → Supabase (Postgres)
Google → Firebase Cloud Firestore
For either method, the following is stored, linked to your account:
Subject, session, paper, and question number
Your personal note on that question
Short question preview text
When the bookmark was saved
Not uploaded to the cloud: read/unread/revision status per question, revision review dates and counts, theme, and navigation preferences.
Sync uses a merge strategy: bookmarks from your device and cloud are combined; deleting a bookmark on one signed-in device removes it from the cloud on the next sync.
The App does not collect or require:
Name, phone number, or postal address (unless you include them in a support email)
Payment card details inside the App (purchases are handled by Apple App Store / Google Play)
Precise GPS location
Contacts, calendar, photos, or files
Microphone or camera recordings
Clinical or health records (the App provides exam study content only)
As of this version, Prep DNB does not include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that automatically send identifiable usage data to us.
Your device OS or app store may collect diagnostics under their own policies (Apple/Google).
We use information only to:
Provide core App features (study, bookmark, revise, search, MCQ practice)
Remember your preferences on device
Optional: back up and restore your saved questions and notes across devices when you sign in
Respond to support requests you send us
Improve the App based on feedback you choose to share
We do not sell your data or use it for targeted advertising.
