Researcher's Profile
Sofia Karina Trommlerová is a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in economics and economic demography at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, and co-founder of SAVIA - the first Slovak Association of Women in Science and Innovations. Sofia is also an associated researcher at Centre for Research in Health and Economics CRES-UPF at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.
The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship within the research project PREGNANCYBENEFIT is Sofia's third postdoc and she will work with Branislav Bleha. Her previous postdocs were at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain (with Libertad González) and at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, The Netherlands (with Matthias Rieger).
Sofia uses statistical methods to examine topics related to family, fertility, child health, and gender. Her main research interests encompass family economics, population economics, development economics, and economic demography. In all of her work, she uses applied microeconometric methods.
