an MSCA-funded research project!


PREGNANCYBENEFIT is a research project funded by the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship grant awarded to Sofia Karina Trommlerová in 2022. MSCA is part of the Horizon Europe grant scheme funded by the European Commission, and its intention is to boost top researchers’ careers through mobility and innovative postdoctoral training. 

Sofia is undertaking this research project in her home country Slovakia, at Comenius University in Bratislava, under the supervision of professor Branislav Bleha. This research project focuses on policy evaluation of family policies, in the area of demographic economics.

09/2024

*** First results of this research project were presented at the 22nd Conference of the Slovak Statistical and Demographic Society in Nitra, Slovakia. Local TV Nitrička picked up the topic and covered it in their news (watch it here in Slovak).

10/2023

*** Also in 2023, Sofia Trommlerová participated in the flagship initiative of the European Commission Researchers at Schools. It was part of the 2023 European Researchers' Night. Sofia visited a high school in Poprad, Slovakia, where she spoke to 11th-graders about "How to measure whether family policies work?".

*** Sofia Trommlerová participated in the new flagship initiative of the European Commission called Researchers at Schools. It was part of the 2022 European Researchers' Night.
