Instead, they release a pheromone similar to the one that certain moths use to attract their mates. The bolas will release silk with a globular sticky silk on its end when the moth investigates. She then grabs her prey like a whip and carries it around in her mouth. The South American Gauchos used bolas as a weapon to throw at the legs and teem them. After mating the female will produce many eggs sacs. The spiderlings then emerge from the overwinter. This is what makes this unusual: the male offspring. They are hatched as adults! They can already mate and there is no need to mature. However, the females must finish their growth process. These tiny, 1/2-inch females hang out on leaves of bushes, bushes, and other plants looking for anything that looks like poop or snails. But if you're careful, you might be able to spot one of Missouri’s most distinctive spiders.
