Hi!
First things first, thank you for using the guide! I'm grateful that it has been useful to many pre-dental (and some dental) students around the country!
My name is Shabeeb Bahar. I spent my undergraduate career at the University of Texas at Austin, graduated in the class of 2025, and will be attending University of Texas Health Houston's School of Dentistry in their class of 2029!
Now why did I decide to take the time to make all of this? The answer is simple, and I believe it dates back to when I was taking General Chemistry in my freshman year of college. I think I asked a question in our class GroupMe, but no one was able to answer it. So I thought to myself, "If I wanted help, I'd want someone to help me. So I'm gonna be that someone to others." That's how I started helping others in organic chemistry and started helping others about things pre-dental, using the knowledge I had.
Coming into college, I didn't know much about pre-dentistry. However, in my first semester at the university, I joined the Texas Pre-Dental Society - the only pre-dental student organization on campus at the time. Not knowing much about pre-dentistry at all, I was a very curious mind and asked a lot of questions. Thankfully, the officers were more than happy and willing to provide me with advice and guidance. Utilizing what I have learned from others and what I have learned from my own experiences, I am sharing it all with others, to help them the same way the officers of my time helped me. The pre-dental journey is long, difficult, and full of twists and turns, but that doesn't mean you have to remain confused - there is help out there for you all, just like this guide!
I hope the guide continues to be of help to you all throughout your journey, and I hope to hear from and work with you all one day!
Keep working hard, stay diligent, but also make time for the things you love!
Can't wait to see you all out here!
