Introduction
For me, a teacher is someone responsible, well-versed, compassionate, considerate, open-minded, and level-headed. These are the characteristics of the teachers that I look up to, and so they become my role models of what a good teacher should be. I am aware that reaching that level of being competent and effective as a teacher is challenging, but as someone who has chosen this profession, that's a challenge that I must conquer. I'm not a teacher yet, but I'm in the process of becoming one. Hence, one of the processes or steps that I took to become what I aspire to be—a good teacher—is the Teaching Internship, which is documented in this e-portfolio.
This e-portfolio is a collection of entries from my weekly journals, where I've discussed my experiences as a student teacher teaching Social Studies 9 and Araling Panlipunan 7 and 10 (both the positive and not-so-positive ones), my thoughts and reflections on the seven domains of the PPST, my teaching philosophy as a beginning teacher, pictures from my teaching internship, my lesson plans and instructional materials, and other evidence and entries that show my dedication and commitment to becoming a competent and effective teacher. I have also included evaluation forms and rating scales graded by my cooperating teacher and teaching internship supervisor, which also serve as a record of my growth, progress, and accomplishments as a student teacher.
Looking back on my teaching internship journey, it was indeed hard, but it was also the most fulfilling experience of my life. I've experienced difficulties which made me grow as a person and future educator, and a lot of satisfying and fulfilling moments which inspired me to continue walking this path and strive hard to become the teacher I aspire to be. The entries in this e-portfolio are not just records of my teaching internship journey and experiences as a student teacher; they are an affirmation that I will continue to work hard and develop myself to become effective and competent and embody the characteristics of a good teacher.
