1. The first step in solving a restricted trig function is finding which quadrant your coordinates are in. See if your given coordinates are positive or negative, and match their signs to a quadrant.
2. Use (c,s,t) if you are given unknown trig functions. Find the quadrant that matches both of your given functions to solve.
3. After finding the quadrant, solve for your missing variable (x, y, or r) with this equation.
4. Plug your variables into the remaining unsolved trig functions, and solve.
