Using Coping tools to Handle Stress

During the month of November students are learning and practicing coping tools to help manage their stress. Here's a copy of the slideshow that was shared with them in the Elementary Counseling google classroom.

Find a quiet place to sit, either on a chair or the floor, close your eyes if you feel comfortable, and listen to the guided body scan. The video will help you notice how your body is feeling, and hopefully relax!

Put on some comfy clothes, find a quiet space and take 10 minutes to try out this guided yoga video which focuses on our heart space. Out heart space is connected to our mood and these poses aim to help shift your mood so you feel more calm.

This coping tool is another great way to help ground ourselves in class or outside of school when we feel anxious or worried. The best part of this coping strategy is the only thing we need are our senses!
