Cold and Flue Season Update:
The long-awaited flu update is here – we can officially return to classic ‘blue tag protocol’! Blue tags are placed on kennels for sick dogs receiving treatments. This means that dogs without blue tags can interact normally! AD – B – C and D kennels can return to normal operations. We will keep the one-way traffic flow and A/B barrier a bit longer until the number of blue tags in A decreases a bit more. So, what does this mean for fosters?
Playgroups have resumed relatively normally, with a round of blue tag/sick playgroups happening at the end. This means we can schedule playgroup sessions for fosters who request them.
Dog-to-dogs can resume for dogs in AD-B-C-D that are not blue tagged. If you are interested in fostering and would like to schedule a dog to dog meet and greet prior to taking home your foster just let us know and we can see if they are cleared to do so.
Adventure Tails have resumed for dogs without blue tags! Interested in scheduling an Adventure Tails? Just let us know and we will match you with a dog that is cleared to go!
Thanks to the diligence of our shelter staff and vet services teams, we currently have over 100 dogs that are considered fully cleared from flu quarantine! Thank you to all of our fosters who kept their foster dogs a little bit longer and to those who fostered sick dogs for us! We appreciate everyone's patience!

Normal Business Hours: PRC has staff trained to assist with medical concerns 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm. In a true urgent or life-threatening situation, PRC will work to accommodate walk-ins to ensure your foster pet gets the care it needs.
After Hours: If a pet is taken to an emergency clinic without the authorization of a member of PRC staff, the foster volunteer may be required to pay the total amount of the invoice. Animal control does not have authority to approve emergency clinic care.
