'And the Lord said, whom shall I send? And who shall go up for us? Then, said I, here am I, Lord. Send me!'
A group of friends reading about one calamity after another just decided one day to do something. 'Let's get some donated kit and deliver it to Ukraine'. It was literally that simple.
In theory, at least.
In practice there's a little more to it. But a couple of months later, we had the contacts at both ends of the journey, some much needed equipment, a vehicle and the support and goodwill of people in our church.
We came up with the name 'PRAY PALS' in homage to the 'Pals' regiments of the First World War and as a play on words on 'Paypal', a favourite online donation tool. The 'PRAY PALS' goal is to store up treasure in Heaven, though. Not just on Earth.
At time of writing, we have a structure in place and can start planning our first trip. Watch this space for updates.
Our team finds its leadership in the inimitable form of our Lord Jesus Christ, here shown during his agony in the garden, 'Can you not watch one hour with me?'
On the earthly plain, here is the Pray Pal team in action.

Anyone can join our team as a PRAY PAL. Just as Pay Pal makes it easy for you to store up treasure on Earth, a Pray Pal stores up treasure in Heaven by praying for the success of this and other charitable activities and for an end to the suffering of the victims of war, wherever they may be.
