Prayer
Introduction
We have a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Relationships are all built the same way, through communication and quality time together. Prayer is simply spending time with God and communicating with Him through various ways described in His Word. Effective prayer is a means to encounter God and hear from Him, not just talk to Him. God speaks to our hearts through His Word. The Holy Spirit guides us into God’s best path for our lives by revealing adjustments and giving assignments. He does this so that the light and love of Christ can shine brightly through us to others.
These prayer stations are in two categories. The first four are ways for you to personally connect with God, the last five are about our mission together, as a church family.
Station One: The Word
Our Hearts
“The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalm 145:18
Jesus said to the Father, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17
Read or listen to the current 345 Essentials chapter 345essentials.com (Hardcopy is on the table)
Before you read or listen, pray and ask:
“Lord, as I go through this chapter of your Word, thank you for opening my eyes to see truth that sets me free and guides my prayers.”
* Feel free to jot down a truth or promise God reveals to you in the journal provided on the table.
Station Two: Worship
Our Hearts
“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.” Colossians 3:16
When we quiet our hearts before God in worship, the Holy Spirit does His work in us and God “inhabits our praises” Psalm 22:3.
“Lord, as I focus on you through this song of worship, fill my heart with praise and gratitude for who you are to us, and what you do for us.”
Music Meets Heaven
Station Three: Adjustments
Our Hearts
Romans 12:1-2
1” And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Ask the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, to reveal anything in your life that needs to be adjusted (thought patterns, behavior, sins to be confessed and repented of). Yield to the good work the Holy Spirit wants to do in your life today.
“Holy Spirit of God, I yield myself to you in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord. Show me the adjustment you want to make in me today and give me grace to do it.”
Station Four: Assignments
Our Hearts
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me.” John 10:27-28
Assignments from the Lord usually have names. There are people that we know, and others that we simply encounter throughout the day that need to see the love of Christ through you. Ask the Lord Jesus to reveal any assignment that He has for you or to make you aware of the assignment when it is happening.
Lord Jesus,
Open my eyes to the assignments that you have for me. Show me people that you would have me demonstrate your love to. Give me wisdom to make you known to them.
Station Five: Lifting Up Leadership
Christ the King Skagit
7 “Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives and follow the example of their faith…
17 Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.
18 Pray for us, for our conscience is clear and we want to live honorably in everything we do.”
Hebrews 13:7, 17
Lift each of our church leaders up, by name, to the Lord. Ask for wisdom, protection, provision, power. Pray that our church leaders would be sensitive to the Lord’s direction for His church. Pray for God’s blessing, provision, and protection over their families.

Station Six: Spiritual Warfare
Our Mission
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12
“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20 But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.” Luke 10:19
Spiritual warfare is important in our prayer life. It’s important to understand that there are spiritual forces at work around us. The incredible promise from Jesus to us is this: He has deputized us with His authority over every spiritual being with evil or harmful intentions. Below is an example of praying in that authority against spiritual evil in the world.
I pray now, in the name and authority of Jesus Christ alone, against any foul or unclean spirit that attempts to come against us. I pray against any work of the enemy or ungodly schemes of people, that they would be repelled by the power of Jesus Christ and bound away from us in His good name. And in Jesus' name, I summon holy angel warriors to camp around us, defend us from every attack, and completely destroy the works of the enemy towards us. I pray for angelic protection over our families, our household, participants, and partners Christ the King Skagit.
Station Seven: The Lost
Think of people in your life that don’t have a relationship with Christ and don’t know how to follow Him. Sometimes it’s helpful to use the acronym F.R.A.N that stands for friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors. Let’s develop a list for all our intercessors to pray for! This is what the numbered sheet is for. Write down the name of the person you want to know Christ. We will call this the F.R.A.N. List. Put the number 1 after their name if the person is open and seeking God, put 2 if they are neutral to God/Christ, and put 3 if they seem to be against a life of faith in Christ.
For example:
1. Jerry Littleton – 1
2. Tiffany Greenwood – 3
A biblical prayer for the lost:
Acts 26:18
...to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’
Father God,
I ask that you work in ______________ life. I pray that his/her eyes would be open to Christ Jesus and all He has done for him/her.
Holy Spirit, do your work to turn ______________ from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that he/she will receive the forgiveness of sins and a place in God’s family forever.
In the name of Jesus Christ my Lord,
Amen
