Prayer Diary
Prayer Diary: Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 10th August 2026
Prayer Diary ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. The dua texts, translations, and fonts are built into the app and need no connection.
Information We Collect
No account, no cloud, no ads, no tracking.
Information you provide (stored locally on your device):
Bookmarks and your saved "Continue reading" position
Favourite duas
Reader preferences (Arabic font, Urdu font, theme, text size, display options)
Prayer diary entries (e.g., prayers marked as prayed, missed, or qadha; dates; and any reflections or notes you add)
Tasbih (counter) counts while you recite
Your location or entered city, if you use automatic or location-based prayer times (used on-device to calculate prayer times; never transmitted or stored off-device)
Timestamps for each entry
Automatically collected information:
None by default. Prayer Diary does not collect analytics or send data to servers.
If your device or OS records generic crash info, it stays within the OS unless you explicitly share it.
How We Use Your Information
All processing happens on-device to:
Display the duas, ziyarat, and supplications, and your saved bookmarks and reading position
Show your prayer diary history, monthly calendar, and in-app charts and analytics
Keep your tasbih counts while you recite
Calculate prayer times for your location or the city you enter
Suggest supplications in response to the heart-state you select
Provide insights and trends across your prayer records over time
Emotional and Wellbeing Content
The "How is your heart today?" feature lets you choose how you are feeling and offers supplications from the Islamic tradition in response. Your selection is used only on your device, in the moment, to choose which supplication to show. It is not stored, transmitted, or shared.
This feature offers devotional content for reflection. It is not medical, psychological, or crisis advice, and it is not a substitute for professional help or a trusted adult. If you or someone you know is struggling or in danger, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local support service in your country.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device only.
We do not transmit your data to external servers.
We do not have access to your data.
Your device's standard security (OS sandbox, screen lock, device encryption if enabled) protects your data.
You can reset data anytime by deleting individual entries, clearing the app's data in your device settings, or uninstalling the app.
Permissions
Location (optional): Prayer Diary can use your device location to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. This is optional — you may instead enter your city manually and the app only requests it if you choose to use automatic prayer times. If you grant it, your location is used only on your device to calculate prayer times and is never stored off-device, transmitted, or shared. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; prayer times will then rely on the city you enter.
Clipboard: used only when you copy a dua's text or export your prayer log these actions are user-initiated.
Network: not required for reading. The dua texts, translations, and fonts are built into the app and need no connection.
The app uses the internet for one purpose: recited audio. When you play a dua's translation, that recording is downloaded and then kept on your device, so it plays without a connection afterwards. No audio is requested unless you press play.
The recordings are hosted as static files on jsDelivr, a public content delivery network, and served from a public GitHub repository. Requesting a file necessarily reveals your device's IP address to that network, as any web request does. We send nothing else: the request identifies only which recording is wanted, and carries no account, no identifier and nothing about your reading or your prayer record. We receive no report of who played what.
Tapping a reference link opens that website in your device's browser.
Third-Party Services
Prayer Diary does not use third-party analytics or ads.
No data is shared with third parties.
The app contains links to external websites, including Islamic reference sites (such as duas.org, al-islam.org, and tanzil.net), video content on YouTube, and the App Store or Google Play. Opening a link leaves the app and loads that site in your browser or the relevant app; those sites have their own privacy policies. Note that some destinations, such as YouTube, are operated by third parties that may collect data under their own policies once you leave Prayer Diary.
Data Export
You can export your prayer log as CSV (copied to the clipboard) from the prayer tracker, and copy individual dua texts to the clipboard.
Exports are user-initiated and saved or shared only where you choose.
No background transfers occur.
Your Rights and Control
Because all data is local:
Edit or delete individual entries and bookmarks anytime.
Clear all app data from your device's Settings → Apps → Prayer Diary → Storage → Clear data.
Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
Children's Privacy
Prayer Diary is suitable for all ages, including children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. This includes prayer entries, bookmarks, and location, all of which remain on the device and are never collected, transmitted, or shared. If location is used for prayer times, it is processed only on the device to calculate those times, and is never collected, transmitted, or shared. Because no personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared, the app is designed to comply with COPPA, the Google Play Families Policy, and applicable child-privacy rules.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Updates will appear in-app and on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
