Prayer Lock: for Muslims ("Prayer Lock," "we," "us," or "our") helps you maintain your Salah with accurate prayer times, a full Quran reader, dua and hadith content, and app blocking during prayer windows. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

By using Prayer Lock, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

Prayer Lock uses your device's GPS location solely to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. You can also enter your location manually instead of sharing GPS data. Location data is used for this purpose only and is not used for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.

1.2 Account Information (Sign-In)

If you choose to create an account, Prayer Lock uses Firebase Authentication and supports sign-in via email/password or Google. We collect the information necessary to authenticate you, such as your email address and a unique account identifier. An account is required to verify Pro subscription status.

1.3 Subscription & Purchase Information

Pro subscriptions (App Blocker, full dua/hadith library, home-screen widgets) are managed through RevenueCat, which is linked to your account identifier to verify your active entitlement across devices. Payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, Prayer Lock does not directly collect or store your payment card details.

1.4 App Blocker Data

If you use the App Blocker (Pro feature), the list of apps you choose to block and related usage information used to detect and block those apps stays entirely on your device. This data is never transmitted to us, to any analytics provider, or to any third party.

1.5 Analytics & Usage Data

We use product analytics (via PostHog and Firebase Analytics) to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This may include:

• General usage events (e.g., screens viewed, features used, subscription status)

• Device/platform information (app version, build number, platform, country)

• Sign-in provider (e.g., Google or email)

Analytics are only active in production app builds. Sensitive fields such as email addresses, passwords, tokens, or payment details are automatically redacted before being sent to our analytics providers. App Blocker data (including any list of blocked apps) is never included in analytics events.

Session recording/replay is disabled by default and is not used unless explicitly enabled in a future update, with this policy updated accordingly beforehand.

1.6 Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect and diagnose app crashes, which may include limited technical diagnostic data (device model, OS version, stack traces). Crashlytics is disabled during development/debug builds.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Calculate and deliver accurate prayer times and notifications

• Verify and maintain your Pro subscription entitlement

• Authenticate your account and keep it secure

• Understand feature usage to improve the app

• Diagnose and fix crashes or technical issues

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Data Storage & Retention

• Prayer time data is cached locally on your device (and refreshed periodically) so prayer times remain available offline.

• App Blocker settings and app usage data are stored only on your device and are never uploaded.

• Account and subscription data are retained as long as your account is active, or as required to comply with legal obligations.

• Signing out clears locally cached entitlement information; the next account you sign into starts fresh and does not inherit a previous account's Pro status.

4. Third-Party Services

Prayer Lock relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Service Purpose

Firebase (Auth, Analytics, Crashlytics): Sign-in, crash diagnostics, product analytics.

PostHog: Product analytics

RevenueCat: Subscription/entitlement management

Aladhan API: Prayer time calculations

Al-Quran Cloud: Quran text.

We do not control these providers' independent data practices and encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

5. Your Choices & Controls

• Location: You can deny location permission and enter your location manually instead.

• Notifications: You can disable prayer notifications in your device settings at any time.

• Account deletion: You may delete your account from within the app (More → Profile → Delete Account).

• App Blocker permissions (Usage Access, Display Over Other Apps, on Android; Screen Time on iOS) are requested explicitly and can be revoked anytime in your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Prayer Lock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including secure authentication via Firebase and encrypted network connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
