765 Small Flags

765 people per week die from gun violence in the U.S.

3,311 per month 39,733 per year*

Allen's Neck Friends Meeting welcomes all people to witness with us.

These deaths are a national public health crisis. Whether due to suicide, domestic violence, crime or mass shootings, all are a tragedy. Many Allen's Neck Friends meeting members feel a collective leading to bear witness to deaths caused by gun violence in our country.

As Quakers find communion with the Spirit,

Out of the stillness there rises a call to bear witness

In the world, seeking peace and non-violence.

765 small flags witness one week of deaths.

Lives lost to guns in the United States.

Please remember and bear witness with us.

Spirit-led social witness supports transformative changes in our society. It is our hope that this installation will spark heartfelt reflection and dialogue within communities.

The first installation of Small Flags graced the corner of Allen's Neck Rd. and Horseneck Rd. in Dartmouth, MA last winter.

These flags are inspired by traditional Tibetan prayer flags, intended to promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom. According to ancient tradition, prayers on the flags are carried by the wind, spreading good will and positive energy wherever they go.
