Thank you for using Prayer Companion (“App”), developed by Codebeams (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.
1. Overview
Prayer Companion provides prayer times, Qibla direction, an Islamic calendar, and related reminders. The App is designed to work primarily on your device. Some features use third-party services for push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Location information
- We use your device location (GPS or a city you select) to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction.
- Location data is used on-device for calculations. We do not sell location data.
- You can choose a saved city instead of continuous GPS when possible.
2.2 Device and notification data
- If you enable prayer alerts, the App schedules local notifications on your device.
- If you allow remote push notifications, we may process a push subscription identifier through OneSignal so we can send optional messages (for example, app updates or reminders you opt into).
2.3 Crash and diagnostic data
- We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and limited diagnostic information (for example, device model, OS version, and stack traces) to improve stability.
- Crash reports help us fix bugs and improve reliability.
2.4 Remote configuration
- We use Firebase Remote Config to deliver app settings and feature flags (for example, whether ads are shown). These values are configuration only and are not used to identify you personally.
2.5 Ad-related configuration
- The App may show advertisements based on remote configuration. Ad networks may collect or process advertising identifiers and usage signals according to their own policies when ads are enabled.
3. How We Use Information
We use information solely to:
- Calculate prayer times and Qibla direction
- Schedule and deliver notifications you enable
- Improve App stability and performance
- Configure features and, if enabled, advertisements
- Provide customer support when you contact us
4. Data Storage and Sharing
- Prayer progress, preferences, and selected locations are stored locally on your device.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We share limited data only with service providers that power the App, including:
- Google Firebase (Core, Crashlytics, Remote Config)
- OneSignal (optional push notifications)
- Advertising partners (only if ads are enabled)
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and terms.
5. Permissions
Depending on your device and choices, the App may request:
- Location — prayer times and Qibla
- Notifications — prayer alerts and optional push messages
- Internet — remote config, push delivery, crash reporting, and ads (if enabled)
You can revoke permissions in your device system settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 10 (or the age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Data Retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you clear App data or uninstall the App.
- Crash reports and push subscription data retained by third-party services are governed by those services’ retention policies.
8. Your Choices
You can:
- Disable notifications in App Settings or system settings
- Change or clear location preferences
- Uninstall the App to remove local data
- Opt out of personalized ads where your device or platform provides that option
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect App data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Please use the App on a secured device.
10. International Users
If you use the App outside the country where our services or infrastructure are hosted, your information may be processed in other countries by our service providers, subject to applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
