India is a country where animal husbandry plays a major role in the economy with more than 5 million cows being milked daily. And another 8 million are kept in Gaushalas. It becomes quite difficult to manage the health and fertilization cycles of cattle separately.

Considering this fact, I thought of making a product which can make the monitoring process easy and convenient. I thought of a fitness band for cattle similar to the kind we use for tracking our health and fitness.

So, I have designed a health tracker for cattle to track their movement, fertility and lactation. It consists of GPS, heart-rate monitor, a thermometer to track the heat cycle and various auxiliary sensors similar to the sensors present in the wrist fitness band for humans. This tracker will be attached to the cow with the help of belt and positioned just above the hock joint (rear leg) to prevent any alteration by cow itself and the pulse reading is much accurate in that region.

I have designed this product using SolidWorks. The belt is made up of fabric to comfort the animal and the device is having a rubber coating to provide a smooth and irritation-free surface for animals. The product can be made waterproof using silicone paste and rubber seals. A charging port is provided to charge the device and share the data. It also has a wireless module to transfer real-time data.
