I am a fourth year PhD student at UCI focusing on database systems. My advisor is Professor Sharad Mehrotra and I am part of the Information Systems Group.
I am broadly interested in query execution and query optimization problems. I am excited about optimization oppurtunities that can be learnt from repeating query workloads, as well as from currently executing queries. I interned at Amazon Redshift in 2025 (and I will be back in 2026!), where I worked on improving the cost based aggregation pushdown optimization.
Previously, I was at Microsoft, working in the data engineering space.
A curious person, with one too many fun fact occupying my brain, I am an avid quizzer. I also like to travel (the above picture is from San Diego), watch and analyse soccer matches through data and recently I have developed a habit of reading non-fictions. I love music, and I hope you have fun exploring all the easter eggs I have hidden in this paragraph! Here's my Spotify profile, hope you find a playlist which moves you.
