AISMBR Seminar Series

Artificial Intelligence and Statistical Mechanics in Biomedical Research (AISMBR)

The seminar series aims to provide a virtual platform to exchange knowledge, highlighting advances, collaboration, cross-disciplinary interaction and critical analysis in biomedical research.

Seminar Link:

 Date and Time: 9th September

Speaker: Dr. Kshatresh Dutta Dubey from Shiv Nadar University

Statistical mechanics (SM) contributes significantly to the advancement of biomedical research providing a theoretical framework to understand complex biological systems at the molecular level. This interdisciplinary approach utilizes statistical mechanics principles to model and predict the behaviour of biomolecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids, and their interactions within cellular environments.

AI in biomedical research has revolutionized the field by enabling advanced data analysis and interpretation. It aids in processing large-scale biological datasets, accelerating drug discovery, and facilitating personalized medicine approaches. Machine learning algorithms have been employed to predict disease outcomes, identify potential drug candidates, and analyze complex genetic interactions, leading to more efficient and precise healthcare solutions. Integrating AI into biomedical research holds immense potential for advancing our understanding of diseases and improving patient care.
