A three-day celebration of the life and legacy of Ocilla's Soul Man, Mr. Dave Prater of Sam&Dave.
Come join us as we celebrate Ocilla's Soul Man, Mr. Dave Prater. Prater was part of the dynamic duo, Sam&Dave who brought us hits like "Soul Man" and "Hold On, I'm Coming."
We will kick off the event on Thursday, May 11th with a Gospel Sing at a treasured Ocilla landmark, the former Irwin County Elementary School Auditorium.
Friday, May 12th, we will dance the night away at our block party that will feature the ICHS Jazz Band and a 60's R&B cover band. There will be food vendors, live music, dancing, beer/wine vendors, games and much more. The celebration will continue Saturday, May 13th with food, arts/crafts vendors and more live entertainment, including a talent show and performances from local groups. All events are free to the public.
We hope to see you in the great city of Ocilla, Georgia!

The Venue
The Old ICES Auditorium
Referred to as "The Old Auditorium" by locals, the school yard of the former Irwin County Elementary School is the new location of the Prater Music Fest. With pecan trees and plenty of room to spread out, it makes the perfect venue for events such as this! Downtown is two blocks away, so stop by on your way back from dinner, or enjoy dinner from one of the food vendors!
