I am working on molecular simulation studies of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) to help Indian Oil Fields to increase their efficiency of oil production. This will help India to decrease one of the major foreign exchange outflows in terms of importing crude oil.
BASF Germany has recognized the significance of our methodology, awarding me the Indo-German Science and Technology Fellowship
to explore its applications in addressing industrial problems.
Presented our industrial research work of BASF SE, Germany, on โDesign of sustainable organic coatings for metal protection using molecular simulations' at the Research Scholarsโ Symposium of IIT Bombay and received the โBest Oral Presentation Awardโ for the same. The research helps to screen coating materials for metal protection.ย

Published a co-authored article, 'Probing the Energy Landscapes and Adsorption of Asphaltene Molecules near Silica Surface'ย in Fluid Phase Equilibria Journal. In this work, we showed that the common belief that 'all asphaltenes preferentially adsorb over rock surfaces' is not always true. We showed that the adsorption is governed by the contributions from core, chains, and heteroatoms within the asphaltene structure, as well as the competition provided by surrounding oil phase molecules.ย

This summer, I guided three undergraduate students, Aryan, Vedang, and Arkaja from VNIT Nagpur, in our lab at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Together, we worked on Enhanced Oil Recovery using Molecular Simulations. Mentoring these bright minds was a wonderful experience, and I learned much from it.
