Dr. Prasannavenkatesan Theerthagiri is working as the Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Technology, GITAM Deemed to be University, Bengaluru, India. He was awarded PhD (Full-Time) Research degree in the year 2021 on the work of wireless communication with machine learning from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Anna University, Chennai, India. He received his undergraduate degree B. Tech (Information Technology) in the year 2012 from University College of Engineering Villupuram, India and postgraduate degree M. Tech (Information Technology) in the year 2014 from Anna University Regional Campus, Coimbatore, India. 

He is the Principal Investigator for the on-going DST-SHRI recommended project entitled “Identification, Preservation Promotion of Indian Heritage Art and Crafts through Deep Learning with e-Marketing” funded with 30.26 Lakhs. He is the Principal Investigator for the on-going DST-NCSTC sanctioned project entitled “Children Outreach Awareness Programme on Emerging Technologies for Doddaballapura Rural School Students in Karnataka” funded with 16.25 Lakhs. He is the Co-Principal Investigator for the on-going DST-PVTGs recommended project entitled “Empowering Jenu Kuruba Community through sustainable smart honey harvesting techniques, skill development, and digital marketing” funded with 204 Lakhs. He is the Principal Investigator for the in-house GITAM-funded MURTI project entitled "Smart Agriculture Lab".

He received “Best Researcher Award” from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) Deemed to be University for the academic year 2023-24 for the research contribution in funded projects, publications, and patents. He received a travel grant from DST-SERB for presenting his research work at the IEEE Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Singapore, 2024. He was awarded the Mobility Grant award by the Republic of Slovenia in the year 2017-2018. He has published his research works in 20 SCI(E) indexed journals, 51 SCOPUS indexed journals, 10 national/international conferences, 10 book chapters in Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, T&F, Emerald, etc. publisher. He has an H-Index of 11 in Scopus and 13 in Google scholar. He is an ORCID/Web of Science verified Reviewer Board Member for 106+ research articles for various Scientific Publishers/Journals: IEEE Transactions, Nature, Springer, Wiley, Emerald, T&F, Frontiers Media, DRDO, Old City Publishing. He has 6 years of research experience and 4 years of teaching experience.  He has worked on 2 research projects as technical assistant.  He is a Member of Institutions of Engineers India. Also, He have submitted 24 research project proposal on various themes to several external funding agencies like ICMR, DST, MoES, SERB, UN Economic council, DHR, BIRAC, KSCST.
