Provides an interdisciplinary foundation for understanding the Earth's natural systems and the impacts of human activity on the environment.

DIY Project (Lab)

The DIY Lab at IIT Kharagpur is a hands-on course designed to teach students practical skills in assembling/disassembling mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, 3D modeling and printing, and basic electronics using Arduino and simulation tools. Students carry out guided projects under faculty and senior student mentorship.

Global Tectonics and Climate

Elaborates how large-scale Earth processes such as mountain building, volcanism, and continental drift—have influenced global climate over geological timescales. The course explores how tectonics shape atmospheric CO₂ levels, ocean circulation, and surface weathering.
