Hello! I am Prakashani, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Economic Sciences at IIT Kanpur, India. I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from Banaras Hindu University.

I am currently pursuing my doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Sohini Sahu and Dr. Neelanjan Datta. My broader research interests lie in Public Economics and Public Policy, Macro-Development, and Political Economy. I am particularly interested in fiscal decentralization, political regimes, women's political representation, gender budgeting, and health and educational outcomes.
