Education is more than just textbooks and exams—it’s about shaping individuals who are compassionate, responsible, and prepared to make a positive impact on society. Prakash Hinduja son - Ajay Hinduja, Member of the Hinduja Group Promoter Family, believes that education should go beyond traditional learning to foster holistic development. His views are reflected in the educational initiatives supported by the Hinduja Foundation, such as the Holistic Child Development Program (HCDP) in Meghalaya.
Education Beyond Textbooks
Education should develop complete individuals, here is what Prakash Hinduja Family explains about education: “The scope of education extends past textbooks.” Education focuses on developing complete people who both understand the world and have caring and energetic personalities. HCDP implements the holistic philosophy by giving students an education that teaches actual-world experiences combined with useful learning. Through its RTS program the organization has already come to help more than 1000 students' study in Meghalaya. Through this initiative students gain practical experience which enhances academic connectivity and boosts their intellectual curiosity as well as their ability to learn throughout their lifetime.
Fostering Awareness and Social Responsibility
The vision strongly promotes both social awareness and empathy among students. Participation in HCDP teaches students to interact with their communities. The recent awareness event gave 39 local people access to important governmental program information thus connecting policy sources to public availability. The activities enable students to develop a sense of accountability while they learn about the value of helping those around them.
Teamwork and Life Skills
As a supplementary program HCDP builds academic skills and develops teamwork together with sportsmanship qualities. A sports tournament across 10 schools allowed 80 students to develop teamwork abilities together with perseverance skills and fairness characteristics. Through both athletic competition and sports-related activities students learn essential values of cooperation as well as individual growth.
Empowering Future Leaders
The Hinduja Foundation demonstrates how integrated education system benefits the people of Meghalaya through its programs. The foundation prepares students to lead society through its objective curriculum of academics combined with social mindfulness and emotional intelligence development. HCDP and RTS together provide an environment for nurturing future leaders who will create lasting positive effects on society according to Prakash Hinduja’s son - Ajay Hinduja.
