About Us
Standing on sub-urbs of Bantony Hill, Prairie Lodge was originally built by the British in the late 1800s and was the residence of an English merchant family. Mixing the luxuries of urban life with the astonishing views of Annandale Valley, Observatory hill, and Summer hill, it was the place of choice for many to reside in. Going through the hands of many owners and experiencing the change in time, it was after the Independence of India in 1947 that the building was under the ownership of Smt. Yashwanti Devi.
The building had seen its time and the structure was weakening day by day. It was so until Er. Om Parkash Saunkhla, the present owner took it upon himself to reconstruct the building, filling it back with life and preserving the history and architecture of an important figure of history.
Presently Prairie Lodge serves as a residence and a Bed and Breakfast hosted by the family itself.
