Artifacts and pamphlets have been added for visitors at an open house.

This puzzle was found in the attic by the preservation committee. Only one state was missing, South Carolina, which was restored by Dwight Byerly.

Students enjoyed softball, baseball, kickball, sledding, and "anty over the coal shed"(schoolhouse) among many other outdoor activities during recess.

Also known as "dinner buckets", these were donated by former students of Prairie Grove School.
Even on winter days, students could play in the sand.
A sink and drinking fountain were added in 1953, as mandated by the state of Iowa. However, students still used the outhouse and an oil burning stove for heating.
