I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo, working in Tetsuya J. Kobayashi's Laboratory for Quantitative Biology.
Outside of research, I enjoy playing the guitar and songwriting (see below), rock climbing, meditation, and engaging with philosophy.
I was born in Mumbai and have lived across Asia, Europe, and the United States, including Indonesia, Turkey, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Pune (Maharashtra), New Delhi, Cookeville (Tennessee), Austin (Texas), Manhattan (Kansas), Atlanta, San Jose, and Madison (Wisconsin). Spending extended time within a wide range of educational and research institutions has given me a firsthand view of both their strengths and their limitations. These experiences have shaped my motivation to initiate the Tandem Research and Education Cooperative (TREC), an effort to build more open, community-driven, and non-hierarchical approaches to learning and research that better respond to real-world problems.
