Sourav Pradhan was born and raised in a small village in Midnapore, West Bengal, India. He completed his BSc in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University in 2011 and subsequently pursued an MSc in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Bombay, where he worked on cascade heterocycle synthesis using MBH chemistry. After completing his master’s thesis, he joined IIT Guwahati to pursue doctoral studies and, in early 2020, earned his PhD for his research on transition-metal-catalyzed C–H functionalization reactions. He then moved to South Korea to join the research group of Prof. Sukbok Chang at KAIST as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where he contributed to the development of novel nitrene-mediated transformations.
