Edited the Rupantarer Pathe, a news and views weekly being published from Malda, from 1988 to 1998.

Involved in writing drama on social issues for the science clubs and theatre groups.

Active with the theatre groups in directing and acting from 1970s to recent past.

In both years of university annual cultural competitions got prizes in debate, recitation, extempore speech and direction in drama competitions in 1980-81.

Got the Best Actor prize in Malda District Drama Competition in 1981.

Completed a 4 week Appreciation Course on Film at Film and Television Institute, Pune in 2010 and formed a cine club (Malda Cinephilia Society) with the cine lovers in the same year.

Stood first in district school level poetry writing competition in 1975

Stood second in an district level essay competition organized by the Govt. of West Bengal on the occasion of the birth centenary of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhaya in 1976.

Stood second in a state level competition for an essay published in Malda College magazine in 1978.

A collection of poems named 'Kaj Nei Kathara Bechari' was published in 2011.

A collection of poems named 'Aada Byabosa Kendro Theke' was published in 2017.

A bengali translation of a book 'Crack Capitalism' is going to be published in 2021.
