Hosted by the Los Angeles Training Consortium
This training is designed to equip mental health professionals with essential stress management tools that promote long-term wellness and professional sustainability. We will explore the dynamic relationship between mind and body, emphasizing how chronic stress, emotional suppression, and avoidance (active inhibition) become physiologically embedded in the nervous system. Through practical, experiential exercises, attendees will learn key regulation strategies that support nervous system balance, enhance resilience, and prevent burnout. By integrating psychoeducation with skill-building interventions, this workshop aims to empower participants with accessible, evidence-informed tools to strengthen emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and cultivate sustainable wellness in both personal and professional domains.
Objectives:
• Participants will learn about the mind–body connection by identifying how chronic stress, emotional avoidance, and active inhibition impact the nervous system and contribute to physical and psychological symptoms.
• Recognize personal and professional stress patterns, and describe how these patterns influence mood, behavior, relationships, and overall functioning.
• Learn at least three evidence-informed stress regulation techniques that promote resilience, nervous system balance, and sustainable wellness.
