Hosted by the Los Angeles Training Consortium
This reflective and interactive training will introduce participants promoting father engagement to support family wellbeing. It will highlight the ways in which family health is interconnected and how father engagement is necessary in the promotion of family wellbeing. Approximately 10 percent of new fathers experience perinatal mental health challenges, and in families where a mother is also struggling with her mental health, these rates can increase to nearly 50 percent. This training will introduce practitioners to the 1) benefits of father involvement on child development and family wellbeing; 2) paternal mental health challenges and the impact on families; 3) tips to engage fathers.
