presented by PAT MILES
This workshop will focus on strategies to make Peer Support for Parents relevant to work being done in Children’s Mental Health settings. We will review some of the common challenges with providing Peer Parent Support in these settings and discuss strategies to assure that Peer Parent Support is seen as critical to a family’s journey from help to hope. We will review a framework for the delivery of Peer Support as well as ways to share and summarize the support work that happens between a parent and Peer Parent Partner. Participants will have an opportunity to practice defining the work of peer support from several scenarios presented and to consider how their summary can build more support for Peer Support.
