This Privacy Policy explains how the Sudoku app (“the App”) handles information when you use the App.
The App is designed as an offline Sudoku game. We aim to collect and process as little personal information as possible.
The controller responsible for data processing in connection with this App is:
Christophe Kajzar

If you have any questions regarding privacy or the processing of your data, please contact us using the email address above.
The App stores certain information locally on your device in order to provide its functionality.
This may include:
game statistics;
completed and abandoned games;
game difficulty;
game duration;
date and time of completed games;
grid size;
selected language;
display settings;
sound settings;
note settings;
preferred difficulty;
other app preferences.
This information is stored locally on your device using the App's local storage system.
The App does not currently require you to create an account and does not require you to provide your name, email address, telephone number or postal address.
The locally stored game statistics and settings are not intentionally transmitted to us.
If you uninstall the App or delete its application data, locally stored information may be deleted.
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service provided by Google.
AdMob may collect and process certain information in connection with the delivery, measurement and personalization of advertisements.
Depending on your device settings, applicable law and the configuration of the advertising service, this information may include:
IP address;
advertising identifier or similar device identifier;
information about the device;
operating system and app information;
approximate location derived from the IP address;
information about advertisements displayed;
information about interaction with advertisements;
diagnostic and performance information.
Google may use this information to provide, measure and improve advertising services and, where legally permitted and applicable, to provide personalized advertising.
The processing of advertising-related data may therefore be carried out by Google independently of the App developer.
For more information about how Google processes information, please refer to Google's privacy policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can also find information about Google's advertising technologies and how you can manage advertising settings through Google's services.
Where required by applicable law, the App may request your consent before personalized advertising is enabled.
If you do not provide consent where consent is legally required, advertising may be shown in a non-personalized form or certain advertising functionality may be limited.
In a future version of the App, we may use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App and to improve its functionality.
Firebase Analytics may collect information such as:
information about how the App is used;
events and interactions within the App;
information about the device and operating system;
app version;
approximate location;
usage and diagnostic information;
advertising-related identifiers, where applicable.
Analytics data is used to understand, for example, which features are used most frequently, how users navigate through the App and whether particular features require improvement.
Firebase Analytics does not require us to know your real name.
Where required by applicable law, analytics processing will only be activated after obtaining the required consent.
For further information about Firebase and Google's processing of data, please refer to:
https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
and
https://policies.google.com/privacy
In a future version of the App, we may use Firebase Crashlytics to detect, analyse and fix crashes and technical problems.
Crashlytics may collect information such as:
crash reports;
device information;
operating system information;
App version;
information about the circumstances surrounding a crash;
technical identifiers;
diagnostic information.
This information helps us identify technical problems and improve the stability and reliability of the App.
Crashlytics is not intended to collect the content of your Sudoku games or personal information such as your name or email address.
However, technical information contained in crash reports may in some circumstances constitute personal data under applicable data protection law.
Where required by applicable law, Crashlytics will only be activated after obtaining the required consent.
More information is available here:
https://firebase.google.com/docs/crashlytics
and
https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
In a future version of the App, we may use Firebase Performance Monitoring to monitor the technical performance of the App.
This service may collect information such as:
app startup time;
network performance;
response times;
device information;
operating system information;
technical diagnostics;
information about the performance of individual app features.
The purpose of this processing is to identify technical performance problems and improve the App.
Where required by applicable law, Firebase Performance Monitoring will only be activated after obtaining the required consent.
Further information is available from Google:
https://firebase.google.com/docs/perf-mon
and
https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Depending on the type of data processing and the applicable legal requirements, we rely on different legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
These may include:
Where consent is legally required, for example for certain forms of personalized advertising or analytics, we will request your consent before the relevant processing takes place.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before the withdrawal.
Where legally permissible, technical processing may be based on our legitimate interest in providing, maintaining, securing and improving the App.
This may include certain technical diagnostics and security-related processing.
Processing that is necessary to provide the basic functionality of the App may be carried out where applicable on the basis of providing the requested service.
We do not sell your personal information.
However, the App uses or may use third-party service providers to provide certain functions, including:
Google AdMob for advertising;
Firebase Analytics for usage analytics;
Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting;
Firebase Performance Monitoring for performance monitoring.
These providers may process information on their own systems and may process data outside your country.
Google may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where required, appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection law are used for international data transfers.
Locally stored Sudoku statistics and settings remain on your device until they are deleted by the App, the application data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled.
Data processed by third-party services such as Google AdMob or Firebase may be retained according to the respective provider's policies and applicable legal requirements.
We do not maintain a separate personal database containing the identity of App users.
If the GDPR applies to you, you may have the following rights, depending on the circumstances:
the right to access your personal data;
the right to request correction of inaccurate data;
the right to request deletion of your personal data;
the right to restrict processing;
the right to object to certain processing;
the right to data portability;
the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Because most game statistics and settings are stored locally on your device, we may not have access to this information and therefore may not be able to identify or retrieve it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority.
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you can contact the data protection authority responsible for your place of residence or work.
The App is a general-purpose Sudoku game and is not specifically directed at children.
The App does not knowingly request personal information such as a child's name, address, telephone number or email address.
Third-party advertising and analytics services may nevertheless process technical information according to their own policies and the applicable legal requirements.
If the App is later configured or marketed as being directed specifically at children, its advertising, analytics, consent mechanisms and data processing will be reviewed and adjusted to comply with the applicable children's privacy requirements.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed in connection with the App.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes may become necessary when:
new features are added to the App;
new third-party services are introduced;
existing services are changed;
legal or regulatory requirements change.
The updated Privacy Policy will be made available at the location where this Privacy Policy is published.
The date at the beginning of this document indicates when it was last updated.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or the processing of personal data in connection with the App, please contact:

Note: This Privacy Policy is intended as a general description of the App's data processing practices. It is not a substitute for legal advice. Before publishing the App, the actual implementation of Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring and any consent mechanism should be checked against the applicable data protection requirements, particularly the GDPR and Google Play requirements.
