The Special Education PTO provides opportunities for parents and community members to offer input to the school district on critical issues relating to students with disabilities.
The Special Education PTO Advisory Board is comprised of parent volunteers who represent the Special Education PTO at each PTO Council (PTOC) meeting and at Board of Education committee meetings, meet with Director of Student Services Micki Crisafulli and the district's Special Education Supervisors each month, and organize events centered around topics of interest to the members of the Special Education PTO. Each school in the district has a parent serving as Special Education PTO Liaison to help facilitate communication and partnership between schools and families and serve as a point person for special education related matters for their school.
In addition, we welcome volunteers to help support our various initiatives, such as buddy programs, advocacy seminars for high school students, a diverse books initiative, and student mentoring. If you are interested in helping with any of these initiatives or would like to lead another project that will serve our community, please contact us at specialedpto@gmail.com
