I am a University Teaching Practitioner who has been teaching part-time in the School of Architecture since 2006, having previously studied here. I am currently the Year 1 programme co-leader, coordinator of the dual Architecture and Landscape programme in Year 1, Environment & Technology module leader, and a year 1 studio leader. I have previously also been the Architecture Year 2 programme leader, joint Year 1 programme leader, and module leader for a suite of architectural communications modules. I have also been a Professional Studies Adviser for the University of Cambridge supporting students on the RIBA Part III professional accreditation.
When not teaching, I am a practising architect. My practice and my teaching are co-reliant, each informing the other, and foregrounding the social and environmental responsibilities incumbent on our vocation. I have practised across a wide range of scales and sectors for over 25 years, including being Architect Associate at BDP and founding my own practice. I am now Associate Director at Chiles Evans + Care Architects, a small practice based in Sheffield, where I have worked on a range of renovation and new-build projects, including the RIBA award-winning Hollis Building in Sheffield city centre.
