Challenges in Multi-sectoral Collaboration

Co-hosted with the Canadian Practitioners' Network

The mapping research identified several challenges in terms of multi-sectoral collaborations in the P/CVE intervention sphere, including:

· Conflicting dynamics between some of the key sectors, particularly the Security and Mental Health sectors;

· Challenges in terms of information sharing between practitioners from different sectors and professions;

· Challenges in maintaining the confidentiality and right to privacy of program recipients in the context of multi-sectoral collaboration;

· Contrasting perspectives regarding the ability of some practitioners to intervene with individuals engaged in a trajectory leading to violent extremism which leads to the following questionings: Who can provide secondary and tertiary prevention services and what qualifications are required to participate in such interventions? If so, why?
