Information sharing
All sharing of info is voluntary.
Sharer should identify any confidential shared info as such.
Shared info will not be distributed beyond the group membership, unless specified otherwise by sharer.
If anyone is not comfortable receiving info on a topic due to competitive concerns, they should speak up when the idea is introduced and ask that the info not be distributed.
Digital archives
We maintain an archive of presentations from quarterly meetings, as well as video recordings when available. You are welcome to refer to these.
We also are in the middle of an initiative to interview and publish profiles of all PPLF members. When a profile is ready, it is emailed to the distribution list and also archived on our Google Drive. A membership directory is in the same place. It is updated fitfully!
Both of these archives are available via the PPLF website (url below), but only if you have permissions to access the underlying folders on Google Drive. Permissions are updated when you join PPLF, but if you have difficulty with access, send email to the address at the end of this document.
Please do not share archived content outside of PPLF since some of it may be confidential.
Any member may invite guests to a PPLF event with no further obligation. As a courtesy, please notify the event organizer so access and other logistics can be arranged.
New members should be either an active senior manager responsible for one of the areas listed in the description section, or someone who has high potential as a next generation project and portfolio leader and would benefit from membership in the group.
Potential new members should attend a meeting as a guest first. If there seems to be a good fit, the sponsor should send a short email to PPLF's email address below with the person’s name, job title, organization, and an explanation of fit. This email will be forwarded to the board for comment and approval, typically within a week.
New members will be introduced by email to the entire group, added to the membership database, and given access to the electronic archives. (Sorry, the member Ferrari is in the shop for repairs.)
Governance
PPLF is a lean group. We have a volunteer board of directors. We have the following volunteer roles: programs team, profile writers, new member liaisons, discussion facilitators. This document defines our other governance protocols. That’s all.
We love volunteers! Please offer your ideas and talents. Ideas: join the board, convene a special event (social gathering or birds of a feather discussion), interview a member and write a profile, improve the website, oversee an update of the membership directory, or mentor another member.
Please contact the email address at the end of this doc if you have questions, concerns, or ideas. You can also contact Jeff Oltmann (email below), who is the convenor of PPLF.
