In PPKK, our approach towards sustainable environment is to uphold environmental obligations and go beyond compliance and operational requirement
As a waste generator, we are committed to ensure a proper handling and management of SW to meet the legal requirement stated in the Environmental Quality Act 1974.
We ensure that the waste generated are properly stored on-site and delivered to prescribed premises for disposal. We also ensure that scheduled waste that are subjected to movement of transfer be packaged, labeled and transported in accordance with the guideline prescribed by the Department of Environment.
Other activities such as notification and inventory of scheduled wastes are kept up-to-date.
The PPKK SW performance data disclosure is aimed to inform the progress of our SW management performance. The data is reported every 6 months following the SW management requirement by the Department of Environment Malaysia which to store the wastes within 180 days from the date of generation.

1. The label shall be a square set at an angle of 45 degrees. The dimension of the label shall not be less than 10 cm by 10 cm except where the size of the container or package warrants for a label of smaller size.
2. The colours used on the labels 1 to 11 shall be in accordance with British Standard BS 381 C, "Colours for specific purposes".

3. The labels shall be divided into halves, the upper half of the label shall be reserved for the pictorial symbol and the lower half for text printed in block capitals.
4. The text shall be printed in black on all labels except when the background of the label is black, red or blue, the text shall be in white.
5. The labels may be of the following types:
(a) stick-on;
(b) metal plates; or
(c) stencilled or printed on the container or package.
6. All labels shall be able to withstand open weather exposure without a substantial reduction in effectiveness.
7. Label shall be placed on a background of contrasting colour.
8. In the case of waste capable of causing two or more hazards, all the hazards must be clearly identified and the waste shall be labelled accordingly.

Scheduled waste is any wastes that possess hazardous characteristics and have the potential to adversely affect to the public health and environment. There are 77 types of scheduled wastes listed under First Schedule of Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005 and the management of wastes shall be in accordance with the provisions of the above Regulations.
The waste has classified based on the following consideration: The waste has been widely used as raw material to produce product that is safe to be used; The waste does not exhibit significant toxic characteristics; The waste is not classified as hazardous waste at international level. Eg; plastic, paper, glass, metal
The improper management of scheduled wastes lead to the contamination of ground water and surface water, air pollution which caused adverse effect on the environment and human health.
