If you want a portable, durable pair of on-ear headphones designed for active kids and students who need to block out distractions during lessons, choose POWMEE M2; if you need a stationary desktop audio solution that delivers loud stereo sound with visual flair for a home office or classroom desk setup, choose LENRUE Computer Speakers.
• POWMEE M2: Delivers comfortable, tangle-free wired listening with noise isolation in a lightweight, foldable package; the trade-off is it lacks wireless convenience and is strictly an on-ear design not suited for heavy over-ear coverage.
• LENRUE Computer Speakers: Offers plug-and-play USB power with 10 watts of surround sound, a headphone jack for privacy, and customizable touch-activated lights; the trade-off is it requires a fixed power source and takes up significant desk space compared to portable gear.
• The POWMEE M2 is for teachers and parents needing reliable audio for children's devices like Chromebooks and tablets without battery anxiety.
• The LENRUE Speakers are for users who want a permanent, atmospheric upgrade to their computer audio system with volume knobs and light shows.
The POWMEE M2 is built with a very specific user in mind: the active child or student who needs audio gear that can survive a backpack, a classroom, and daily travel. Its most defining feature is the adjustable headband paired with soft protein earmuffs. This combination ensures a snug fit that stays put regardless of how much the wearer moves, which is critical for long school days or airplane rides. The design explicitly targets kids age three and up, focusing on a lightweight construction that minimizes ear fatigue. At just 0.21 kg, these headphones are barely noticeable when worn, allowing for extended periods of use without the pressure points often found in heavier models.
For a teacher looking for "over ear headphones for teachers" or similar classroom management tools, this device offers a practical alternative. While they are technically on-ear rather than over-ear, the cushioning provides excellent sound isolation. This means students can focus on their educational software or audiobooks without being distracted by hallway noise or chattering classmates. The nylon braided cord is 4.2 feet long and specifically designed to be tangle-free, a crucial detail for young hands that might otherwise get frustrated with knotted wires. The durability is evident in the foldable design, which collapses the unit into a compact shape that fits easily into small suitcases or pencil cases.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you are seeking wireless freedom or deep bass response typical of high-end studio monitors, this wired option will feel limiting. The 3.5mm jack is universal, but it requires a physical connection to every device, meaning you cannot move around your room freely while listening. Additionally, the frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz is standard for consumer electronics, but it does not claim to offer the expansive soundstage of premium audiophile gear. It is a tool for utility and comfort, prioritizing the ability to listen clearly for hours without discomfort or tangling issues. If you need a "touch control headphone for teachers" or students who prefer one-button simplicity, the volume control here is integrated but basic, relying on the physical connection rather than complex digital interfaces.
The LENRUE Computer Speakers serve a completely different purpose, acting as a dedicated desktop upgrade for anyone wanting to transform their workspace audio experience. These speakers are designed for stationary use, plugging directly into a PC, laptop, or desktop via USB-C or USB, ensuring a stable power supply and audio output without the need for external batteries. The enclosure is made of plastic with a purple finish, featuring a substantial build that measures roughly 3.55 inches deep and 6.89 inches high. With a total output of 10 watts across two channels, they provide a louder and clearer sound profile than standard laptop speakers, utilizing 5x2W drivers to suppress static and deliver noiseless stereo audio.
This product shines in environments where atmosphere and volume matter, such as a home office, a gaming station, or a teacher's desk during virtual classes. The inclusion of a 37-inch cable allows for flexible placement on either side of a monitor, creating a true surround sound effect. A standout feature for many users is the touch-activated lighting system. You can cycle through colorful breathing lights to match your mood or the time of day, adding a visual layer to the audio experience that standard speakers lack. The independent light button lets you toggle these effects on or off instantly, giving you full control over the ambiance. Furthermore, the rotary knob for volume adjustment offers tactile precision that is often missing from keyboard shortcuts, making it easy to fine-tune levels during a meeting or a movie.
Privacy is another major selling point for this unit. The built-in 3.5mm headphone jack allows users to connect personal headphones for private listening without disturbing others in the room. This is particularly useful for late-night study sessions or professional calls where background noise must be minimized. However, the requirement for a constant power source via USB means these speakers cannot be taken on the go. They are not suitable for outdoor use or travel. The weight of 1.3 pounds indicates a solid, non-portable build intended to stay on a desk. While they are compatible with Windows, Chrome OS, Linux, and UNIX, they rely on a plug-and-play driver-free setup, which simplifies installation but locks them into a wired ecosystem.
• Best for Portability and Travel → POWMEE M2: The foldable design and lightweight 0.21 kg weight make it ideal for stuffing into a bag, whereas the LENRUE speakers are too bulky and require a fixed power outlet.
• Best for Desk Setup and Atmosphere → LENRUE Computer Speakers: The 10-watt output, colorful touch lights, and 37-inch cable create an immersive desktop environment that headphones simply cannot replicate.
• Best for Noise Isolation in Busy Rooms → POWMEE M2: The protein earmuffs and snug fit actively block ambient noise for the listener, perfect for classrooms or noisy households.
• Best for Shared Spaces and Privacy → LENRUE Computer Speakers: The headphone output jack allows for private listening, while the external speakers can fill a room for group viewing without disturbing neighbors.
• Best for Durability Against Tangles → POWMEE M2: The nylon braided cord is engineered to resist knots, a common pain point for children, unlike the longer cables of desktop speakers which can still snag.
• Best for Plug-and-Play Simplicity → LENRUE Computer Speakers: No drivers are needed for Windows or Chrome OS; just plug the USB-C adapter in and start playing, though it requires a nearby power source.
• Best for Long-Lasting Comfort → POWMEE M2: Designed for ages 3+ with soft cushions to minimize tiredness during long wear times, whereas desktop speakers have no wear-time limits but require a seated position.
• Best Value for Classroom Audio Tools → POWMEE M2: The wide compatibility with Chromebooks, iPads, and Androids makes it a versatile tool for schools, while the LENRUE unit is more of a luxury desk accessory.
In my opinion, I would buy the POWMEE M2 if I were outfitting a classroom or buying for a student, because its portability, tangle-free design, and noise-isolating comfort address the specific chaotic needs of education better than any stationary speaker could. However, if I were setting up a personal home office where I spend eight hours a day and want a richer audio experience with some visual flair, I would choose the LENRUE Computer Speakers for their superior sound output and unique lighting features. For teachers specifically, the POWMEE M2 remains the superior choice due to its adaptability to various devices and its ability to keep students focused without the clutter of extra cables and power bricks on a crowded desk.
The LENRUE speakers offer 10 watts of stereo sound which is significantly louder than standard laptop speakers, making them suitable for small to medium rooms, though they are designed primarily for desktop proximity rather than filling a large hall.
Yes, the POWMEE M2 uses a standard 3.5mm jack, but for modern iPhones like the iPhone 15, you will need a separate Lightning-to-3.5mm or USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter to connect them physically.
Absolutely, there is an independent touch button that allows you to switch the colorful breathing lights on or off cyclically, letting you enjoy the audio without the visual distraction.
The cord is 4.2 feet long, which is sufficient for sitting near a computer or tablet, but it is designed as a wearable headphone rather than a long-range speaker cable like the 37-inch cable found on the LENRUE model.
