The 2026 Powhatan County Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the Powhatan Courthouse.
*** Please remember there is only one Santa,
so please do not spoil the magic by dressing up as Santa.***
What would a holiday parade be without great shopping? If you would like to have a booth at this well-attended parade, please see the information below.
Booths will be located on the courthouse green as in past years, and electricity is not available there. Vendors on the green will be given a 12 x 12 space.
**Please note that the participation of hot food vendors will be by invitation only. The parade committee will reach out by email to the selected vendors and provide registration information.
The use of gas-powered generators will not be allowed as it creates a noisy disturbance in the area.
Booth Fee: $30*
*The vendor fee benefits the Christmas Mother program. Please note: Vendor fees are nonrefundable and are considered a donation to the Powhatan Christmas Mother.
Would you and your group like to show your holiday spirit? Don't just watch the parade, BE the parade!
If individuals or groups would like to be in the parade there is a $25 fee*. A parade entry is good for one float or group of walkers. Car groups are welcome, but if the group is comprised of more than 6 automobiles the fee will be $100*. Car groups may not exceed 15 vehicles per registration.
All participants should decorate using a winter or Christmas theme. Also, floats should be decorated with flame-resistant materials and equipped with an ABC fire extinguisher.
The parade will be limited to a maximum number of 60 entries. Registration is first come, first serve and will be closed once 60 entries are received or by 11/20/2026.
Lineup for the parade will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Mann Road, at the library, the YMCA, and Fighting Creek Park.
Approximately two weeks before the parade, the contact person for each parade entry will receive an email with specific instructions for participants.
Something to consider: Large groups that include children will need to coordinate the drop-off and pick-up system for their groups. As always, traffic will be heavy at the parade line-up location. Please encourage your group members to carpool to limit the number of cars trying to access the area.
Also, it is the responsibility of groups/leaders to plan how children will be reunited with their families at the conclusion of the parade.
Parade participants WILL NOT be allowed to throw candy to spectators. Any group who wishes to distribute candy or other items must plan to have members of their group walk along the parade route to hand out Items. This limits trash along the route and lowers the chance of someone getting injured.
Parade Participant Fee: $25
*The participant fee benefits the Christmas Mother program. *Please note: Participant fees are nonrefundable and are considered a donation to the Powhatan Christmas Mother.
