My Story

my name is Gertie Graham .I am a wife ,mam and Oma( Grandma in Dutch) I moved from The Netherlands to England in 1999.

When i lived in The Netherlands i gave workshops making fantasy figures from clay and card making with decoupage .when I moved to the UK my family life took over for a while. I started crafting again after had my cancer scare .

I sold items i handmade and gave away my profits to F.A.C.T fighting all cancers together.

I started to give a few workshops again it first started with wolf fairies

. I followed a powertex workshop in 2016 and I fell in love with this medium so much! that I did my powertex tutor training and started to give Powertex workshops .

I love teaching people new skills. Powertex is an environmentally friendly ,non-toxic ,water-based fabric harder .It is also weatherproof after three weeks ,what is a bonus as we can create lovely garden ornament .I know that being creative can help improve the mind, I have experienced many difficulties and i know art has helps with mental and physical well-being and I believe Crafting has helped me theough that with many benefits ,I also believe we should all recycle more in this throw away world and working with powertex lets me do just that.

I either deliver workshops for my small studio in Sacriston ,Durham or I could travel to different venues to deliver workshops .If you want a workshop I could be that something to suit you and your business for big groups I can arrange demonstrations to see if it’s something you would consider suitable for your organisation .Powertex is ideal for birthday parties ,friend to get together ,hen nights ,stag nigh,team building ect.

I found my creative sparkle back when I could only see darkness after I was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness I became carefree I was scared ,mad ,sad ,stressed and seeing lonely creativity became my piece of little bit of relaxation the dark cloud hanging over me disappeared from the first time because I had more time to think when I was busy with my hands I want to share my new found sparkle with you along with my knowledge of Powertex ,my inspiration with everyone I feel blessed that I am able to guide people to find there own creativity and make their own unique piece of art .
