Biography
Sanghoon Kim received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1987, 1989, and 1994, respectively. From 1994 to 1996, he worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Daewoo Heavy Industries Ltd., Korea, where he participated in propulsion system development for railway vehicles. In 1997, he joined Kangwon National University, Chuncheon, Korea, where he is presently working as a Professor. He wrote the book Electric Motor Control: AC, DC, and BLDC Motors (Elsevier, 2017). His current research interests include power electronics, the high-performance drives of electric machines, and artificial intelligence (neural network) applications in motor drives and power electronics.
