#PovertyTalks

Welcome to the Homepage for the #PovertyTalks project, a participatory research project conducted by researchers from Trinity College Dublin in partnership with ATD Ireland which sought to document lived experiences and uncover hidden geographies of poverty in Dublin. Follow the links at the top of the page to watch our animation and to find out more about the project. 

Joe Whelan is a researcher from the School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College, The University of Dublin. Through the group All Together in Dignity Ireland (ATD) he recruited friends and community activists who have experienced poverty.

Together, they went on a series of walks, through places that meant something to them. They drew maps. They took photos, and they talked about the reality of poverty in their lives.
