Flowers often mark some of the most meaningful moments in life- weddings, memorials, celebrations, anniversaries, any moment worth remembering. While fresh flowers naturally fade with time, many people choose to preserve them so the memory they represent can last for years. Through techniques like pressing and drying, color correction, and botanical reconstruction, flowers can be transformed into lasting keepsakes that honor both joyful celebrations and meaningful memories. 

 '' What should I do with my bouquet after the wedding?'' 

Keep the bouquet out of direct sunlight and away from heat. If you can, place the stems in clean water and keep the flowers in a cool spot until drop off. Try to avoid leaving them in a hot car. The sooner we can connect to receive the bouquet, the better. Different flowers need different handling, and preservation methods work best when flowers are fresh. Have a wedding attendee or family member plan to drop off your bouquet next day!

'' How late is too late to preserve your wedding flowers?''

There isn't one cut off date for every bouquet. Fresh flowers are usually easiest to preserve, but even if your bouquet has dried naturally, it may still be possible to create a keepsake. The sooner fresh flowers reach me, the better! Once the bouquet starts to wilt, turn brown or it's been more than a few days since the wedding- The chances of preserving the flowers before they naturally dry become much lower. That doesn't mean it's too late. Naturally dried flowers may still be suitable for a shadowbox keepsake, depending on their condition.

Not every flower can be preserved exactly as it looked on your wedding day. Some blooms change color or shape as they dry, and delicate petals can be fragile. I'll look at the flowers and talk through what may work for the keepsake you have in mind. Some may need to be deconstructed petal by pedal and then reconstructed, some may need color correcting, and some may need a unique approach. 

The best option if your air drying your bouquet depends on the flower's condition and type. If they are dry intact and free of mold or heavy damage, some may work beautifully in a shadow box keepsake. Flowers that are brittle, crushed, discolored, or moldy may not be suitable-or may need a different approach and special handling.

Every bouquet is different. Depending on the flowers and the look you want, your keepsake may include pressed flowers, dried blooms, or a combination of techniques arranged into a custom design. I also create keepsakes such as herbarium bottles and ornaments.

'' What's the difference between pressed and dried flower frames?'' 

Pressed flower keepsakes Are made with flowers that are flattened as they dry. This creates a slim, botanical look that works beautifully in a frame. Whether it's designed in an all pressed glass frame or on a custom matte board for a more traditional framed look. Depending on the flower and design, blooms may be pressed whole, or seperated petal by petal then carefully reconstructed. 

Dried flower keepsakes These are dried using A method Called silica drying. This helps preserve the flowers while keeping more of their natural shape and dimension. Then arranged in a shadow box. Some bouquets look best with a combination of techniques. I choose an approach based on the flowers, their condition, and the keepsake you want. Every bouquet tells its own story.
