In Strata, a city divided by class, a young girl named May is anchored to the bottom of society by a book, written by her recalcitrant father and tied to her neck for all to see her familial shame. But as a foot courier, May is introduced to people in high places, and even more importantly to a boy named Samuel burdened with improving his family’s status.
A better life exists in Strata for those that wish to achieve it, but the task seems impossible to these children from lower squares. Impossible, till Samuel discovers May’s unique ability that could propel them to a brighter future.
But their own sins are not hidden for long. A bright future is not fit for all.
Sins of the Father is a dystopian story of loneliness, heartbreak, and the unlikely friendship of two children who navigate the world they were born in and the disadvantages they were born with.
