Postal Quiz is an educational application operated from Gujarat, India, designed to help candidates prepare for Department of Posts examinations through quizzes, mock tests, previous-year papers, live tests, study materials and related features.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you provide while using the App.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, with whom it is shared, and the choices available to you.

2. Information You Provide to Us

Mobile Number

An Indian mobile number is required to create and access your account.

We use Google Firebase Authentication to send and verify an OTP by SMS.

Your mobile number is used as the identity of your Postal Quiz account.

The App:

• Does not read SMS messages from your device.

• Does not access your SMS inbox.

• Does not send SMS messages from your device.

• Does not require permission to read your SMS inbox.

The OTP is delivered through Firebase Authentication. On some Android devices, Google's own OTP auto-retrieval functionality may automatically fill the verification code.

Profile Information

A profile is required to use the App. Depending on the information requested by the App, this may include:

• Full name — required

• State — required, selected from a list

• Preparing for — the examination you are preparing for, selected from our list

• Email address — optional

• Profile photo — optional

If you choose to add a profile photo, the App may request access to your camera or photo library. Only the image you select or capture for your profile is uploaded.

Information You Write or Submit

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide through the App, including:

• Discussion messages

• Question reports

• Support conversations

• Account deletion requests

• Reasons provided with account deletion requests

• Other information voluntarily submitted to us for support or account-related purposes

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information that is not necessary for operating the App.

3. Information Created When You Use the App

When you use Postal Quiz, certain information is generated and stored to provide the App's features.

This may include:

• Quizzes you attempt

• Mock tests you attempt

• Previous-year papers you attempt

• Live tests you participate in

• Your answers

• Test scores

• Points

• Streaks

• Leaderboard rank

• Live test results

• Official results associated with a live-test sitting

• Subscription and premium-access records

• Access-code records

• Subscription start and expiry dates

• Live-test reminders you set

• Last sign-in time

• Last-active time

• Notification token issued by Google to your device

This information is used to provide test functionality, calculate results and rankings, maintain your account, provide premium access and deliver relevant notifications.

4. Information Visible to Other Users

Some information is intentionally displayed to other users as part of the App's community and competitive features.

Other users may be able to see:

• Your name and points on the leaderboard

• Your name and score in a live-test ranking after results are published

• Your name and discussion messages

Your following information is not displayed to other users:

• Mobile number

• Email address

• State

• Other private account information

5. Advertising

The free version of Postal Quiz may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.

AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and other information permitted under Google's advertising policies to provide and measure advertisements.

We do not provide AdMob with your:

• Name

• Mobile number

• Email address

Premium users do not see advertisements within the App.

On Android devices, you may be able to reset or manage your advertising identifier through your device settings, such as:

Settings → Privacy → Ads

The availability and exact wording of these settings may vary depending on your Android version and device manufacturer.

6. Permissions Used by the App

Postal Quiz may request certain device permissions when specific features require them.

Internet / Network

Internet or network access is required to:

• Load educational content

• Communicate with Firebase

• Submit test results

• Synchronize account information

• Provide other online features

Camera

Camera access is requested only if you choose to capture a profile photo using your device camera.

Photo Library / Photos

Access to photos is requested only if you choose to select a profile photo from your device.

Notifications

Notification permission may be requested to provide:

• Live-test reminders

• Replies

• Important updates

• Other notifications that you choose to receive

Alarms

The App may use alarms to alert you when a scheduled live test is starting.

Optional permissions are requested when the relevant feature is first used. The App is designed to continue working without optional permissions where the related feature is not required.

We do not sell your personal information.

We also do not use your personal information to create advertising profiles for third parties.

8. Services and Third Parties With Whom Information Is Shared

We use selected third-party services to operate Postal Quiz.

Google Firebase

We use Google Firebase services, which may include:

• Firebase Authentication

• Cloud Firestore

• Firebase Storage

• Firebase Cloud Messaging

• Firebase Realtime Database

These services store and process information on our behalf for account authentication, application data, file storage, notifications and other App functionality.

Our Firebase data is hosted in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region where applicable to the configured Firebase services.

Google AdMob

Google AdMob provides advertisements to users of the free version of the App.

Google Play

Google Play may process information necessary for purchases and subscription transactions made through Google Play.

Legal Authorities

We may disclose information when required to do so by applicable law, regulation, legal process, court order, or a lawful request from a government or law-enforcement authority.

No Other Independent Use

Except as described above or where required by law, we do not sell or provide your personal information to third parties for their own independent purposes.

Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We generally retain your information for as long as your Postal Quiz account remains active.

When your account is deleted:

Deleted

The following information is deleted or removed from your active account records:

• Profile information

• Test attempts

• Redeemed access codes

• Other account information that can be deleted as part of the account deletion process

Anonymised or Retained

Certain information may need to be retained in an anonymised or account-detached form.

Live-Test Results

Live-test results may be retained in anonymised form because removing a participant's historical result could affect the ranking and official results of other participants.

Your account identity is detached from the retained result where applicable.

Discussion Messages

Discussion messages may be retained in an anonymised/removed-user form so that existing discussions and replies continue to make sense.

Support Conversations and Payment Records

Support conversations and payment-related records may be retained for business records, dispute resolution, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

Where retained after account deletion, identifying information such as your name, email address and mobile number is removed where reasonably possible and appropriate.

10. Deleting Your Account

You can request deletion of your Postal Quiz account from the App:

Menu (☰) → Delete My Account

When you submit a deletion request:

1. Access to your account is suspended immediately.

2. The deletion request is sent for processing.

3. You may cancel the request before it is approved.

4. Once approved, your account is deleted according to the data-retention process described in this Privacy Policy.

After deletion, the same mobile number may be used to register again as a new account.

11. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

Postal Quiz uses Firebase security mechanisms and access rules to restrict access to application data.

Where applicable:

• Users can access only the records permitted for their account.

• Administrative access is restricted to authorised accounts.

• Firebase authentication is used to secure account access.

• Access to application data is controlled through security rules.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Therefore, while we take reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children's Privacy

Postal Quiz is intended for candidates preparing for examinations related to the Department of Posts and is not directed toward children.

We do not knowingly request or intentionally collect personal information from children who are not eligible to use the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:
