My first mailing was to show support to our postal workers on the outside of the envelope and bring awareness of the issues the USPS is facing in a letter on the inside of the envelope. I also included a postage paid envelope so that the recipient could further the agency of the project by sending it to someone else. I created 100 block printed envelopes which I sent to friends, family, politicians, museums, and the press. In the letter that I sent, I explained the project as well as how we as citizens can help the USPS by writing or calling our State Government Officials. I also included information on a petition that was created by the American Postal Workers Union to support the financial issues of the USPS.

The Covid-19 Pandemic has created a reliance on the USPS that we have never known before. My mail carrier, Cathy, works tirelessly to deliver our mail and some days we don't get our mail until after 8pm. Nationwide, our postal workers are being pushed beyond capacity. We can all do a little something nice for our postal workers.
